How to Increase Intel HD3000 vRAM with Terminal in OSX

In other article i've been wrote about how to modify the vRAM intelhd 3000 manually using an application Hex Fiend. you can read below :

but for this time, I will write how to modify vRAM intelhd 3000 is quite simply with terminal application that already include in os x.
Surely this way quite more concise and easy to follow. the terminal command to increase vRAM for Intel HD3000 Graphics are listed below :


To change from 256MB to 384MB use below command in to terminal :
  • cd /S*/L*/Ext*/AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext/C*/M*
  • sudo cp AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.backup
  • sudo perl -pi -e 's|\xC7\x45\xBC\x00\x00\x00\x12|\xc7\x45\xBC\x00\x00\x00\x18|g' AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB
  • sudo touch /S*/L*/Extensions

How to Increase Intel HD3000 vRAM with Terminal in OSX

To change from 256MB to 512MB use below command in to terminal :

  • cd /S*/L*/Ext*/AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext/C*/M*
  • sudo cp AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.backup
  • sudo perl -pi -e 's|\xC7\x45\xBC\x00\x00\x00\x12|\xc7\x45\xBC\x00\x00\x00\x20|g' AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB
  • sudo touch /S*/L*/Extensions



To change from 384MB to 1024MB use below command in to terminal :

  • cd /S*/L*/Ext*/AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext/C*/M*
  • sudo cp AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.backup
  • sudo perl -pi -e 's|\xC7\x45\xBC\x00\x00\x00\x18|\xc7\x45\xBC\x00\x00\x00\x40|g' AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB
  • sudo touch /S*/L*/Extensions

To change from 384MB to 512MB use below command in to terminal :

  • cd /S*/L*/Ext*/AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext/C*/M*
  • sudo cp AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.backup
  • sudo perl -pi -e 's|\xC7\x45\xBC\x00\x00\x00\x18|\xc7\x45\xBC\x00\x00\x00\x20|g' AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB
  • sudo touch /S*/L*/Extensions


To change from 512MB to 1024MB use below command in to terminal :

  • cd /S*/L*/Ext*/AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext/C*/M*
  • sudo cp AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.backup
  • sudo perl -pi -e 's|\xC7\x45\xBC\x00\x00\x00\x20|\xc7\x45\xBC\x00\x00\x00\x40|g' AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB
  • sudo touch /S*/L*/Extensions


After you apply one of the above commands, please reboot your computer and see your vRam changes in About Mac.
